Brief History of The Hospital

Since 1st July 1944 the main donor of this well equipped general Hospital, NANDLAL MULJI BHUTA PARIVAR had run a dispensary in Sihor for poor and needy patients by charging only 50 paise which include registration, medicine & diagnose. Dedicated personality like Dr. Chimanlal A. Shah was the person who take care of this humanitarian work till his long journey to heaven. In loving memory of this work of the Noble Family general O.P.Department run by this Trust and the patients get total medical facilities only by rupees 2/-.

In 1971 a small building was built by legal heirs of the late Raobahadur Uttamlal Mulji, as an eye Hospital in Sihor Taluka. The Hospital had only 12 beds. As there was no adequate facility available for eye treatment in Sihor Taluka, the Hospital was handed over to Govt. of Gujarat under the supervision of the Civil Hospital, Bhavnagar.

However, the Government authorities failed to function and operate the Hospital. In January 1977 they handed over the same to Shree Sihor Mitra Mandal, Mumbai. After addition of another 20 beds, the said hospital was handed over to "Netra Raksha Charitable Trust, Virnagar" by Shree Sihor Mitra Mandal,Mumbai. But unfortunately they failed to meet the basic needs of Eye Treatment for the people of Sihor Taluka. They again handed over the Hospital to Shree Sihor Mitra Mandal, Mumbai, by the end of 1984.

Finally in January 1985 by the grace of God,Shree Sihor Mitra Mandal Called a meeting, in which it was decided to convert it into General Hospital where all types of medical treatment could be available under one roof. In the meeting Nandlal Mulji Bhuta family declared Rs.7,50,000/- as an initial donation; later on they donated Rs.40,00,000/- and at present new charitable trust formed by the trustees of the same by the name & style of "Nandlal Mulji Bhuta Medical Foundation, Sihor".

At present this trust is running a general hospital of 84 beds with 7 full time medical departments.
